Tis the Season

Only another 362 days until Christmas 2011.
Christmas 2010 went by in about 1 minute.
Too fast.

This Christmas was different though. My family was different. My Nan has been battling cancer and is one of the strongest people I know. She still insisted on having Christmas at her house, despite all the struggles and hardships she would endure. My Nan is one of the few people I idolize most in life. And might I add, she is one hot looking Nan with her new do!

On the other hand, we also added a new comer to the family, Cassie. My aunt and uncle had her last Valentines day and she is simply adorable! We are best friends. She listens to me and I hold her hands as she wobbles around the room, it's a win, win!

Christmas 2010 wasn't a bad Christmas, it was just a Christmas that came with a few twists and turns along the way. I guess Santa wanted to mix it up a little;)

But I think everyone was satisfied with their presents. On the 22nd my best friends and I exchanged presents and it was precious, as usual!

On Christmas Eve my boyfriend and I exchanged presents and then after I went to my uncles house, it gets nuttier and nuttier every year!

And then low and behold Christmas Day. In the morning my family and I exchange presents and then we go to my Nans house with the rest of the family and spend the remainder of our day and night there. This has been an on going tradition, and even though it flies by, I wouldn't want it any other way.

One Week Until Christmas?!

With one week away until Christmas, I am beginning to feel the stress. Just right now, I'm texting Maggie talking about what we are getting everyone. Every year my best friends and I go over one of our houses and exchange Christmas presents and this year we are doing it at Maggie's house. But this year I'm having a really hard time finding presents for everyone. Black Friday, as I've mentioned was a waste of a day, so today I went to the mall with Andrew and walked around the mall in circles until something popped out to me and said "YES, this belong to Christina or Nicole..."

But my absolute favorite part is wrapping up all the gifts and sorting them out, writing on the tags what belongs to whom and making sure the wrapping paper is nice and smooth. If I could I would just wrap presents because actually shopping for them, is so stressful - who likes what? What size shirt? What color bracelet? Do they like this band or this DVD better? By the time you answer all the questions, next thing you know it's December 24th and then you're screwed.

I'm not really sure what I want this year. Maybe clothes, gift cards, the usual, but nothing has sparked my interest. I think since I'm older I'm learning to appreciate the value of Christmas spirit and family. But I would be able to capture all of those moments on a new Nixon camera (which if you were to really ask me, is the only thing I would like)

Finger Prints Don't Fade from the Lives we Touch

So on Monday, Andrew and I began to paint his bedroom from gray to a light green. <- Kinda looks like that color.
Well it took about 4 days because we had to tape all the windows, lay down the drop cloths and we had to make sure that we did a second coat on every wall.
At one point we ended up getting more paint on ourselves than the walls. With walking into paint cans, brushing up against the walls when you thought it was dry, it got to the point where we just gave up trying to stay clean and ended up painting each other from our faces to our hair.
I felt like I was in one of those cheesy movies where the couple is all cute and romantic, but it ended up not being as cheesy as I imagined it to be; it was actually nice. I had so much fun painting, I've never done it before. And it was nice looking around at the end and knowing that only you 2 painted the room. I now know whenever Andrew walks into his newly painted room he'll think of what a fun 4 days we had!
And to top it all of on the right side of this desk in the bottom corner we put our handprints:)
I couldnt have had a better time with anyone else.
